This cake has a very strong rum, fruit and spice flavor! It has prunes, raisins and orange peel, So the texture is dense and a bit sticky. There are no pieces of fruit like a traditional fruit cake. Everything is blended into the cake. This was a hit or miss for the family. You are either going to like the rich, strong flavors of this cake or you are aren't. Personally, I love it!
I ordered my cake from the website and it arrive a day early which was great, but can I tell you how great this cake is . It’s very moist , has just the right amount of rum and not over powering at all, the fruits are all blended which I like . Tasting this cake will have you tasting one little piece which will lead to another little piece and another little piece until you realize your cake is finished so take my advice and purchase multiple cakes when making your order because you won’t be disappointed.
